The Highlander - Northumberland

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch at this restaurant. The beef was cooked perfectly, pink and tender. The roast came with a generous serving of delicious vegetables, all cooked to perfection. The service was also excellent, with a quick and friendly team. The atmosphere was cozy and wonderful.

The Highlander reopening is fantastic, and I wish the restaurant all the best for success.

I had been eager to visit The Highlander and finally made it today. It was really lovely. The parking was good, I received a warm welcome from the gentleman behind the bar who showed me to my table, brought me the menu, and a nice glass of Malbec. I chose the Lamb Kofta for my main course, which was really good. For dessert, I had the magnificent chocolate roulade followed by a cappuccino with a shortbread biscuit. The Highlander is spotless, the food is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. It's definitely worth a visit, you won't be disappointed.

Lovely pub .Lovely food . We booked a week in advance for 4pm and has a dog friendly side room. Child friendly lunch menu available with meat and vegan option. No fish though. Smaller portions avaible too on request. Only 4 stars for service as a little wait for food and between courses. But we were a group of 11.Some Confusion as to how much child meals were £6 or £6.95 or and £3 or £9.99 for two courses.

Nice place but food service was really slow and the fish and chips was not nice. Batter was an anemic colour and extremely greasy and chips hard and the mush peas all you could taste was mint. Other guests enjoyed their meals more than me
