Rendezvous - Northumberland

We went to The Rendezvous last night and this was the best Chinese food I have had for years. The staff were very polite, in particular Dave who was very helpful. I will definitely be eating here again.

We went here last night for my birthday, food amazing as usual, if you want 5 star dining, then this is the place to dine. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed our evening.

Despite the food being absolutely fine...I HATE, HATE, HATE this restaurant!! The place is cosy, and is well presented. As was the Darras Hall New Rendezvous. But, I find the people pretentious, with a sycophantic approach towards their “celebrity” customers. My last visit to The New Rendezvous was ruined by poor management of the restaurant, lack of respect common courtesy with complete disregard of the fact a longstanding booking had been made. Me and my party were there to celebrate a special occasion, which was ruined because of our experience. It’s unfortunate, because the food served is tasty authentic. I’ve always enjoyed their menu. However, i would rather gouge my eyeballs out with a spoon than spend another penny of my hard earned cash at The New Rendezvous.

As ever food and staff fantastic, Kevin as usual was a great as ever, now been 33 years and rarely a bad meal, well done Kevin and thank you for all the amazing nights, memories that will live for ever in our minds

We had a nice enough meal on Saturday night but the problem I had was that when I asked for the bill, instead of getting an itemised print out, I got a receipt with a scribble on it and the total cost written next to it I could have been paying for anything and it wouldn't have been the first time that I had paid for someone else's wine! For this reason alone, I won't be returning.
