Kielder 2 - Northumberland

This is the best fish and chips we've ever had in this area. It's always our first choice when we're in town. The portion sizes are generous and there's no grease left on the plates.

I frequently visit this chip shop and I always have to wait for my order. However, the food is definitely worth the wait! It is cooked to order, fresh, and piping hot.

This is not our usual chippy but it will be now! They were open during covid pandemic, with excellent social distancing measures in place, when other chippys were closed. So glad we gave them a go, this will now be my regular chip shop. I had small fish and chips which were more than enough, husband had large fish and chips (being a big eater) portion size was enormous. Batter was nice and crispy, not soggy at all and chips nicely cooked. Very impressed.

We've eaten from here many times and will continue to do so. Sometimes you have a little wait but the food is always fresh and well cooked.

I came back to this restaurant after a couple of years of ordering from another local shop that has been declining in quality. I'm glad I did because I had been getting used to bland fish and mediocre chips for the past 2 years. It was a delight to have proper fish and chips again, served the way they should be. The portions of fresh fish in light, crispy batter were generous, and the chips were among the best I've had. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the recent price increases across the UK. There may be a wait, especially during lunchtime, but it is definitely worth it. As of now, they only accept cash, not cards.
