Tahina - Northcote

I placed an order at 5.30pm on a Friday and was still waiting at 6pm but it’s worth the wait. The monkey salad was incredible!!! Ask for extra chickpeas they are soooo good! The tahini dressing on the salad was delicious (I asked for extra the salad definitely needed it). The sweet potato wedges were disappointing...they were really soggy felt like I was eating boiled, wet potatoes. The coyo dressing that comes with the wedges is yummy though. The pita bread was larger than I expected and good value for $2. Total: $27 pick up. Can’t wait to return!

At my lunch break I went walking up High Street and found this salad bar. I always liked homemade falafels on tabouleh but never tried a Middle-Eastern take on a salad like this before. I decided to order the 'monkey salad ' (pictured) on the menu and it was amazing from the first bite. The flavour and texture was spot on without being drastic. We both enjoyed our red falafel and cauliflower pitas, but felt they were a bit too heavy on the tahini. The pitas were getting soggy. We thought the roasted eggplant needed some lemon juice to balance out the richness. The vegan tahini ice cream was absolutely delicious. Overall, we would return to this restaurant. One word summary: TAHINI.

Wow! It's amazing that everything on the menu can be made vegan! We tried the Carrot Hot Dog, which was definitely recommended. The Cauliflower was incredibly succulent with flavors on point. The Green Falafel Pita was juicy, satisfying, and delicious. Don't miss out on one of their smoothies, the salted caramel one was insanely good. The staff is friendly, there are cool vibes, and a great playlist too!
