Spencers Brook Tavern - Northam

We had previously called by and loved the look of the quaint pub. Decided to take a family trip for the 'roast' Rang three days in advance to what I thought was book a table for four however it was apparently to book the roast! When we arrived no table reserved so had to sit outside. The mandatory roast was awful! Frozen peas, corn and beans covered in what looked like clag glue. The meat was fatty and it was all cold. I also ordered a burger for my mum who asked for a knife to cut it. No! No cutting on that plate (it was fake woven bamboo!).We cut it anyway. To say the service was bad would be suggesting there was service, although the blonde young woman was trying, the older brash, rude, scruffy, offensive and obnoxious companion server did what appeared to be his best to hamper her efforts at organisation or customer service. The icing on the cake was when we were rudely told by him that the $9 bottle of sparkling water we purchased was 'not meant for us it was for Pat the boss and should never have been given to us in the first place'. It wasn't given, I paid for it. We could not get out of there fast enough. Such a shame, could be amazing but it isn't. My advice, maybe visit, stay well away from the roast and pray they have a new server oh, and perhaps check the sparkling water is not for Pat.

The food wasnt bad here at lunch today but the man who served it was about the most dirty and poorly dressed person Ive ever seen handling food anywhere. Apart from this he was gruff and snappy. A real shame as this place could be so good under the right management but this guy isnt it!

Fabulous food always kitchen open anytime for a meal except the days there not open Mon and Tues not sure about Wednesday? You will need to call them. Great drive or ride from Perth.

What a great place. The setting is fantastic. The outdoor beer garden is very relaxing and well shaded. Great friendly service and fantastic food. The steak sandwich was brilliant. Huge, tasty and extremely fresh, right down to the home made bun!

Lovely place to sit outside with family. The food isn't that enticing for kids that want some hot chips as they don't cook chips.My fish was terrible. Never have returned to eat again but would to drink and enjoy a relaxing outside table to listen to music.
