The Dolphin Inn - North Shields

I visited this restaurant with my dogs and was disappointed by the rude and aggressive reaction from a fellow diner who did not want my dogs barking while he was eating. Despite the fact that the restaurant is dog-friendly with a separate dining area for those with pets, we felt uncomfortable and chose not to stay. We will not be returning to this establishment in the future.

The Dolphin is a hidden gem. Flavour packed tapas, delicious, good quality, quantity, great value and friendly service.

We arrived at the restaurant on a rainy day without a reservation and the staff were very pleasant. They were able to seat us at a table in the bar, which was perfectly fine with us. We ordered the lamb and beef Sunday lunches, both of which were cooked to perfection. The homemade vegetables and huge Yorkshire pudding were especially delicious. We couldn't find any fault with our meal, except for the fact that we were too full for dessert. We would highly recommend making a reservation in advance. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant.

Just want to say big thanks to all staff and the chefs. First time here and a very warm friendly welcome and service. The food exceptional and well worth the price fab thanks again guys will be back
