The Purdy's Homestead - North Salem

We live the vibe here and have only had excellent meals at this restaurant. Sitting outside during warmer weather is such a treat!

Simply put.. excellence!! Service, food and vibe! You can never go wrong spending an evening or special occasion here.

I very much enjoyed the farmer and the fish in Purdys. I know they have another restaurant located in Sleepy Hollow, New York, and one Manhattan. I had the opportunity to go to Manhattan for a business dinner. It was very good. When I went to the location in Purdys. It was amazing!

The store-market off to the side of the restaurant is fantastic. The prepared food is out of this world, my faves being the shepherds pie and the meatloaf, outstanding comfort food. The carrot cake is addictive and only $5 bucks for a big square. You can also pick up a great selection of their fresh fish seafood to take home to cook. The restaurant itself has a super cozy and huge double sided fireplace which serves to enhance the ambiance within the antique house setting including a great bar which has a fantastic happy hour deal if you like oysters and beer. The grass fed burger is generous and super tasty. Fun place, quality offerings. Easy to park and right off 684 if you're coming through that way. Pretty view of the produce they grow themselves behind the restaurant on a big hill.

We had a great experience. We pulled up for a late brunch around 1:30 and were able to be seated immediately. We started with the scallop salad (delicious) and then had the lobster roll (very tender and tasty) and the eggs Benedict with the pesto and heirloom tomatoes (good but would've been even better with a bit of hot sauce or something similar). The seating was beautiful and the overall experience was very nice. Cocktails were pricey, but that's the norm nowadays. Would definitely come back.
