Bidrage med feedbackHave driven past this place for years. Read some good reviews so I gave it a try. Naturally, I had to go for the Philly steak sandwich that they are famous for. Unfortunately I never had one cooked by the original owner that made them famous. My Sandwich was just OK, nothing special as phillies go. I should have went for the double meat and cheese version. Any extras cost .50 each (peppers, mushrooms etc). Price was ok, but extras should have been free for the price charged. Varied menu, friendly waters and for my visit quick service. If I go back, I will try something else.
Have been going for 20 years. New owner is very rude. They overcharged me by 25% and when I inquired about the overcharge the owner started shaking, refunded my money and refused to serve me. Told me he has the right not to serve who he wants. Will not go back and will tell all my friends the experience. 20 years of goodwill down the drain for the new owners.
This place is good for a quick meal. The Steak Phyllis are very tasty.
The last reviewer was 100% correct. Ever sense, the new owners took over three years ago. The quality of the food has gone down dramatically. The exterior and interior has improved, but the customer service and food quality has suffered dramatically. I have eaten at Woody's since 1979, and I knew the original owners well, take it from me, it's not the same. I feel the original owners would be ashamed at the subpar quality of food. They are serving. Along with the sub quality customer service. Along with forgetting my french fries, and denying that I was ever in the restaurant, three hours later. I was insulted and laughed at. I'm disgusted at the new ownership. Also, they use to make great Cuban coffee, but that's no longer also. It used to be a great icon of North Miami, but I'm sad to say, that is no longer so.
I was told these sandwiches were excellent. First we were told that it was the first day of table service. It took 5-10 minutes just to get our drinks. Second, we were told that there were technical difficulties Third, after 45 minutes wait, I was expecting a great sandwich to make up for the time we actually waited, when we could have easily left. I was GREATLY DISAPPOINTED!! I asked for provolone cheese, there was no cheese and the onions were not cooked or sliced correctly. The bread was stale. The manager apologized for the wait and mistake, but did not offer another sandwich or deduct my sandwich from the bill!!! Other patrons left as they were there before we were. I will NOT be going to that place again!!! Other patrons said that they used to just give you a number and call it when the sandwich was ready. Maybe that would be better. If I was that cook and it took that long, I would make the best freaking sandwiches for those that stayed, but no my sandwich was thrown together and a second thought!! Where is good old pride in work? It 's gone. customer service and word of mouth counts. I was not happy at all. The only saving grace for this place was the seasoned fries.
