Kanpai Japanese Steak Sushi

It was perfect for our needs. The sushi was alright—nothing extraordinary, but it tasted fresh and was reasonably priced. Their drinks are quite strong, so watch out! The service was excellent and quick. We ordered seven rolls, two pieces of nigiri, a seaweed salad, and an alcoholic drink for $65.

I used to dine at this restaurant a couple of times a month because the food was fantastic. However, I haven't been back in about a year and was disappointed to find that the quality has significantly declined. I ordered a medium rare steak and shrimp, along with fried rice, a baby squid appetizer, and some sushi. Unfortunately, the steak was well done instead of medium rare, and while there may have been some vegetables, they were so scant that I could hardly confirm their presence. The rice was undercooked and crunchy, and the miso soup tasted as if it had been strained through a dirty sock. The woman at the counter had an attitude that suggested she really didn’t want to be there. On a positive note, the salad was decent. Unfortunately, I don’t plan on returning anytime soon.

The chicken was quite fatty and not white meat. I'd recommend sticking with the shrimp and steak instead. The rice, however, was good.

Best in the area by far. The staff and food have always been exceptional. Inside is clean and cozy for a party of two or the whole gang at the hibachi grill.

Standard Japanese steakhouse. Similar prices to others. I 've had better else where but not bad. My down point was they have no yummy yummy sauce! You know the traditional yummy orange sauce I thought all of them had! Thats in my opinion what makes it so good. I asked for some and it was definitely honey mustard they gave me lol. Not ok.
