Bidrage med feedbackRecommend to us by our hosts at a nearby Airbnb.. we were visiting the area for a short break with our dog so it was important to find a restaurant that allowed dogs. Whilst understandably they don’t allow dogs in the main restaurant they do in the pub area of the restaurant. The table was very nice, the service excellent and the menu exactly the same as the main restaurant. We had starters, mains and desserts, the food was exceptionally good, the type of quality you pay dearly for in London. I had mussels to start which although easy to cook are often spoilt by overcooking, not these, perfect in a lovely broth. I then had the “Pig Project”, they do a lamb and a pig project where their aim is to use the whole animal so there is no waste, obviously you don't get to eat the whole animal but what ever special dish they are preparing that evening. 3 adults (1 dog, who was made very welcome), starters, mains, sides, deserts, drinks…. £180 inc service which is discretionary. Worth every penny!!
I went to this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon and had to wait over 50 minutes for our food to come out. The 30£ steak was chewy and barely edible, and some of the portions were really small. The rest of the food was okay. The restaurant also did not have a drink menu.
The menu at this restaurant is quite diverse, offering something for everyone. The food is of exceptional quality, with the Mac n Cheese being a standout dish. My son was particularly impressed with the fillet steak, which he thought was the best he had ever tasted. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and cozy. We will definitely be back soon.
Wow what can we say, simply amazing! It wasn't our first time although we have not been for a while but this was by far our best visit yet. We had the chateaubriand sharer and it was melt in the mouth delicious. The chips and onion ring sides were fantastic and the blue cheese sauce divine. My husband had a pudding and I an Irish coffee. The creme brulee was delicious and the coffee hit the spot perfectly. The service was brilliant and we can't fault Kieran and Megan in any way. We will definitely be back and sooner rather than later!
I had a delicious meal at the Hope and Anchor. The staff were friendly and attentive. The menu had a wide variety of options to choose from, making it difficult to decide. I ended up starting with the sardines, which were very tasty. The jospered bream for my main dish was exceptional, with a large fillet accompanied by delicious courgettes and a garlic dressing. I ordered chips on the side, but they were not necessary as the main dish was filling enough. I will definitely consider returning to this restaurant when I am in the area for work. The food was both good quality and reasonably priced.
