Whifflet Arms - North Lanarkshire

We went here last for the first time and needless to say it will also be the last time we will ever go there food was absolutely terrible ordered the boneless chicken and it was completely over cooked the mains the steak pie couldn't have been anymore dry if they tried and the chilli con carne had no flavour or spice to it what so ever frankly it was so bad I believe they should have paid us to eat it avoid this place

This was one of the worst meals we have ever had got soup and salt and chilli tempura chicken to start with the chicken just had raw chillies cut and put all over the top of it ...the soup was so thick that the bread stood up in it ....then we got onion rings and fish and chips plus chicken and peppercorn sauce ....the fish and onion rings where so greasy there was really no fish in it ...it was just a big plate of greasy batter plus the chicken was tasteless ....apart from the food the staff where nice about it and gave us money off our bill as we could not eat it ...but to be honest we would not go back

So pleased to see the Whifflet Arms open and serving food again. We were seated in a lovely booth for our family meal. The waiting staff member was attentive, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Nachos, haggis bites and cheese bites for starters were all lovely. The mains are big portions so make sure you have an appetite and it's great value for two courses for £11.95. We had steak pie, fish and chicken goujons and don't think any of us managed to finish off our meals and had no room for desserts. If there was any negative feedback fish could've had a slightly more crispier batter and same for the chips. We also had cocktails which we highly recommend. Overall, lovely staff,surroundings and atmosphere on nice days there is also a beer garden outside perfect for summer nights

Oh Dear! The Whifflet Arms used to be a great place to eat and socialise. The restaurant has just reopened after a long spell of just being a pub. My Wife and I went today for lunch. And I have to say We we’re sorely disappointed. We ordered starters which came out relatively quickly and were ok! However the mains, that was another story! My wife ordered lasagna and I ordered a cheeseburger .After 45 mins I asked the waiter if our food was coming to which he replied It would be out soon , after another 15 mins I was approached by the waiter to inform me that our food was being plated but the “Chef” had cooked a chicken burger instead of what I ordered. By this time We we’re starving and I accepted his apology and took the Chicken burger! Another 10 mins and the food finally arrived! The Chicken in the burger was over cooked and dry, my wife’s lasagna was dry and hard. All in all terrible! The table next to us had been in and still hadn’t received their mains after 1hr. Another table returned their food shortly after receiving it! When paying the bill the waiter apologised profusely and said that they had a new “Chef” and it wasn’t working out (understatement). The waiter didn’t charge us for drinks and only charged us for one meal. Over all very, very disappointed!

Have enjoyed four meals in the junction. Great atmosphere and friendly staff, it’s not to pricey. Caters for couples groups and families
