Tickety Boo is a quaint, charming off the grid cafe/dining spot you wouldn't want to miss. Its lovely interior draws you in, while their food and drinks selection caters to everyone, including those with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free preferences. As for our dining experience, it's nothing short of remarkable. Our chai lattes were not only presented beautifully but were also delightful. It was a right balance of flavour, and not too sweet to taste. When our food came around, we couldn't resist not digging in right away. My partner ordered Eggs Benny with Bacon, and you can tell from the moment he cut through the eggs that they were cooked almost to perfection (one was a tad bit overcooked but easily unnoticeable). He noted that the bacon is of high quality too and tasted marvellously crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Meanwhile, my Not Shakshuka dish was phenomenal. While it did have too much oil for my preference, the beans mixed with spinach, onions, shallots, garlic and chilli brought an explosion of flavours that come together excellently in your mouth. Drizzled with lemon, the Not Shakshuka dish becomes a notable combination of sour and savoury with a bit of a kick. Perfect for those who are looking for something different. Since I am vegetarian, I asked for the chorizo to be put on the side for my partner to enjoy. Again, he noted that the chorizo is of premium quality as well, and was cooked splendidly. To top that off, the prices were reasonable too. Overall, it was a memorable and flavourful experience. We're definitely coming back. My partner is already looking forward to trying their Savoury Waffles. You might want to do the same when you drop in for a brekkie!
Interesting little bar/cafe. We popped in for a snack on the way to Freo. We ordered Truffle and Parmesan Chips (could have been seasoned with a touch more salt, and definitely could have been crunchier . And we both had a Mojito. While I found the level of Parmesan and Truffle oil to be fine, the lack of basic seasoning really let down the chips, especially as salt from the grinder on the table did not adhere well. The Mojito was a light and refreshing spritz of a drink, served in a wine glass rather than an old fashioned/heavy tumbler. Mint and lime both appeared fresh, but the amount of flavour was a little thin due to the heavy use of soda. Not what we had been looking for, but now I know what to expect, great for hot days! Service seemed ok, it wasnt busy, and they didnt hover incessantly (which is a big plus+ . Definitely interested to have a closer look at some items on the menu if I pop in again. They get coffee beans from Little Owl (more of a traditional Italian style roast than I normally chase , but it might be worthwhile to test their coffee too.
We came in this morning for breakfast without making a booking, the staff were happy to find us a table without any fuss. Staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Food came out very fast and was delicious especially the Croque Monsieur. Great prices also. Thanks very much to the team for a great experience.
