Lytton's At Mercure Letchworth Hall

Restaurant was closed had to eat in the bar area but food was good.

Food was ok but overpriced for what was given, staff were lovely and helpful but no music or atmosphere within the venue

A tablecloth would have made the dining experience that little bit more special!

Three of us dined and two had the chef specials one fish and one chicken. Both these were really good and the third person in the party had the pork which was also very good. Food was presented very well on the plate and chicken was beautifully tender not dry. We all had a dessert too and these were also delicious. The prices are quite expensive but as we had a tastecard the bill was very reasonable. My only complaint is that booking was very difficult as no one answered the phone on the many occasions I attempted to call. I eventually booked online instead.

I went with a friend for afternoon tea. I had requested pastries rather than cakes and we were provided with those. It was very busy that afternoon but the staff kept us informed and anyway we were in no hurry. The prosecco was great as was the Earl Grey tea and coffee. The sandwiches were good and the selection of types. Plenty of good cream and jam. Whilst the scones were warm and fresh I did find them a bit stodgy and a little bland like they were missing something. We both ate the scones. Of course neither of us could eat all the pastries but we provided with a box and I took them home and my husband who ate all of them. I will be going again as I have already booked another afternoon tea for the 29th of April.
