Bidrage med feedbackWe recently visited this restaurant for tea time. We tried the duck bonbon, garlic bark short rib, fish and chips, and a burger. The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Luckily, we were able to get a table quickly, although the restaurant was quite busy. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming.
I visited this restaurant over 40 years ago, and while the prices have gone up, the food is just as delicious as I remember. It's clear that there has been a change in ownership, but the place is well-maintained with friendly staff. The dish I ordered was packed with flavors, but lacked finesse, with conflicting tastes that didn't complement each other. The menu was diverse, so everyone should be able to find something they like. I don't think I'll wait another 40 years to come back, hopefully sooner.
Great friendly service in an amazing place with lots of history. Food was lovely, the setting is wonderful, staff went out of their way to welcome us. Absolutely well worth a visit. The rooms looked great too.
Great food, great service, nice place, Dog friendly , not expensive. Thanks so much to the team we felt very welcome indeed
We phoned on a wet Sunday and were lucky enough to get a table for the Sunday Carvery. I was slightly concerned at being asked to pay for the meal before I had even sat at the table, and I also found it odd that we were unable to add drinks to our bill (you have to go to the bar and pay for those separately). We decided to stick with it and I'm very glad we did because the meal itself was superb! A choice of three different meats, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and probably ten different varieties of vegetable gave plenty of choice. My wife had beef and turkey, while I had just beef and without a doubt it was one of the best roast lunches either of us have ever had. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic (the Cauliflower Cheese especially was superb). THOROUGHLY RECOMMENDED and I would go out of my way to eat here again.
