Bidrage med feedbackNashville Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich was great... I would have liked a little more spice, but the flavor was on point.
Our first time there. Very pleasantly surprised! The restaurant was very easy to find and had lots of parking and we were seated with in a few minutes of arrival. Employees are very friendly and we're very attentive. There is a wide variety of food offered on the menu and was not expensive according to the way prices are going today. Will definitely be telling friends and family about the restaurant!
We travelled 5 hours down to Southern Illinois for the 2024 solar eclipse and we were looking for a sit-down restaurant to eat at near where we were staying. I stumbled across Morello's by chance online and we decided to give it a try and we were so happy that we did! The waitstaff was friendly and awesome, the manager checked in with us at least once, the restaurant and restrooms were clean, and the food was amazing! I had the portabella Ravioli in browned butter sauce, my husband had the Manicotti with Alfredo, and our 18 year old had the Cajun pasta. And don't even get me started on that baked in-house bread... delicious! I highly recommend Morello's if you are anywhere near Harrisburg, Illinois.
Take my review with a grain of salt. We visited as walk ins the night before the 2024 solar eclipse. This place was in the path of the totality and in a small town. I don 't m kw what their usual volume is not their usual service, but they were packed to the brim that night and the service indicated that was an anomaly. As hunted above, service was slow. Out waitress, Maddie, was great. She was clearly fighting for her life but did the best she could. She was able to recommend some items and was very familiar with gluten free important to me having Celiac disease.Unfortunately, food was mediocre at best. Kitchen was slow, and they screwed up my gluten free order. I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger. No bun, of course. Maddie wrote on the ticket that I was gluten free and ti change their gloves. My burger came out on a bun, and when sent back, the kitchen told Maddie she should have also written no bun on the ticket. I would expect the kitchen to know gluten free meant no bun, but maybe that 's just me.I 'm any case, not just me, but everything all three of us ordered was mediocre at best. However, in their defense, it was what I assume to be unusually and overwhelmingly busy, so I can 't really say how things would be on a normal night. The menu was surprisingly expensive, though, so despite the mediocrity of our food, you shouldn 't have a problem finding something you would hopefully like (assuming a better experience than we had). Dietary restrictions: Not great. Our waitress, Maddie, was great with her knowledge of gluten free. The kitchen, however, was not. She marked my ticket with gluten free change gloves! And when my burger came out with a bun and I sent it back, the kitchen told her she should have marked no bun. She and I both thought gluten free should have been sufficient. Parking: We found a largely full parking lot in the back of the building. Not sure where others parked as once we got inside, we saw people coming in from 3 different entrances, so I assume there was more parking somewhere.
We were in Harrisburg for the eclipse. Sunday evening, during our short wait to be seated, we watched the smiling servers navigate a crowded path of us clueless waiting tourists with SO MUCH grace and patience. Our server Berry was so sweet and helpful. The kitchen ROCKED it -we both got perfectly cooked grilled fish. Sides were perfectly cooked, bread was fresh and flavorful. In the final 30 minutes of service, we watched everyone FOH slow a bit as (I imagine) the adrenaline thinned and the end of a slammed day was in sight… still smiling and cleaning, and supporting each other. My impression as an outsider is that employees feel like family. It was so nice to be a part of that. Great job, y’all!
