My wife and I have visited Antep many times. It is or was a favourite of our grandchildren. In June 2015 however we booked a table for ten people. We arrived at 8.20pm and ordered our meal at 8.40pm. The food came quite quickly, suggesting that it was pre prepared rather than fresh. We finished the meal which was nowhere near as good as on previous occasions at 9.30pm. Nobody asked if we would like a dessert. When we finally saw the manager to ask twenty minutes later he brusquely told us the restaurant was closing at ten o 'clock and that we couldn 't have any dessert. Needless to say we walked out. That evening I was afflicted with violent food poisoning. We discussed at great length what might have caused it and the only possibility was my meal at Antep as 'Mexican hot pizza. I had asked for extra jalapenos, as on many previous occasions, so I doubt they were the problem. I do recall thinking at the time, though, that the mince meat on the pizza looked old and dry. Even my voracious grandchildren said the food wasn 't as good as before. The manager made no apologies for refusing to serve us desserts. In fact, he began arguing with my wife claiming that it was our own fault for arriving 'so late. 'Needless to say we will never return, which is his loss because ten people at a restaurant in Sweden is good business!
You may have to wait a while for your food, but they serve a complimentary starter. A traditional pizza/pasta restaurant where you really get a lot of food.
Antep's Restaurant is the only one in Norrtaelje that offers authentic Turkish food . It is also a superb pizzeria . All the food is made from ingredients supplied locally or regionally. The menu is varied and all food is grilled on a charcoal grill or cooked in an oven. The service is excellent and friendly, the venue very pleasant and the location close to the centre of town. Free parking is available, The chef apparently comes from Turkey, so knows exactly what he is doing. I wanted a pizza that was extra, extra hot. No problem. It was perfect and very, very hot just as I had asked for. I went with my family (i.e. four adults and four children. We had a bottle of wine and most of us had pizzas. My wife had a generous salad dish and the bill came to less than £100, which in Sweden is sensational value. The restaurant is open 7/7 until 2300 Monday to Friday, till midnight on Saturday and until 2200 on Sunday.
