Bidrage med feedbackA nice spot for a date night, I was sadly here on my own as that's how business travel goes. They have a pretty decent looking wine list, but I wasn't in a drinking mood tonight. As I looked over the menu, a basket of three garlic knots arrived. Very garlicky, very buttery and a little doughy. Basically, perfect. I had the caprese to start, which was a good portion of fresh sliced mozzarella, thick beefsteak tomatoes and a couple slices of fresh basil, then drizzled with a balsamic glaze. Tasty, but it seemed to be missing something. The glaze was quite sweet and the whole basil leaves were tough to enjoy as part of the triple. Still, it was tasty. For main, I chose the Shrimp Christiana. Lots of seafood and perfectly prepared shrimps tossed in a white wine sauce over pasta. Somehow, I managed not to splash any of it on myself as I dug through the scallops and crab meat and split shrimp. None of that worry about deveining here they were done very very well. A few pieces of tomato, garlic and some capers made for a very tasty and very delicious meal. The waiter seemed disappointed that their dessert offerings didn't get me to bite. Still, the service was good and he refilled my soda before I even knew it was empty. Nicely done, sir.
We arrived right at 5pm, the first ones there, and we continued to be the only customers for a while. Given that we were from out of state and probably how old we looked, they didn't treat us very seriously. However, the food was pretty good. The bread was fresh and delicious. Our calamari was crispy and yummy. For the main course, we got the ala vodka and seafood pasta with wine sauce. The ala vodka had too much cheese, making the dish too heavy, but delicious nonetheless. The seafood pasta was very good and not too oily, which it could have easily been. Overall, I'd give them a 3/5 for service and food.
I give this place a 2 star. This would probably be my first and last time I dine here. The reason for my review is because of my overall experience. My girlfriends and I came here as a group of 7. As soon as we sat down there was no warm welcome of hello ... or what can I get you or the simple question of have you dined with us before? Our waitress Susan/Sharon was went straight to taking our order. She took our main entree first and then our drinks and appetizers last which I found to be VERY odd. I ordered the Fried green tomato caprese and the Shrimp Christina. Both were very bland. I was a bit disappointed. I also ordered the Titos dirty martini in which I ended up returning. Our waitress gave me the hardest time about returning my drink. She commented Are you sure you want to return that? and then she constantly throughout the night reminded me of how expensive that drink was!! Do you need to remind me and as well humiliate me in front of everyone dining in that night?? I have never been treated this way at any restaurant that I 've dined at. I would not recommend this place at all.
Visited this place on a Friday for lunch with a group of folks from work. We got there early and made reservations, which we probably didn 't need. Parking sucks, since the street parking is usually taken, and metered. That leaves you to maneuver the 'under construction ' downtown streets for the parking garages. The restaurat doesn 't stand out much, there 's a Starbucks 'coming soon ' next door. I think this place is a local secret. Saw Mayor Fraim chilling up front with some pasta on the way in. Ambiance is probably better at night, where you might not notice holes in the wall where a sign was taken down by the bar, or cracked counters. Solid, good food. My salad was quite fun with olives and nicely cut veggies. They have that kinda pink vinegar dressing that I love. The lunch menu is SMALL. I got it, one page, I really wanted to see more! If I come back I want to have dinner here. My lunch chicken parm. was nice, the sauce was yummy and the noodles were the right kind. My chicken was breaded a bit different than I usually have, and without the crisp I like. Taste was good, but texture was a bit off and blended with the noodles in a way I didn 't like as much. My co-workers all enjoyed their food. One commented her steak salad 's meat was over done, but still good. Another said the tortelinni was delicious. We really enjoyed our waiter and service was fast.
Every time I 'm in town I make it a point to eat here for dinner. Some of the best Italian food I 've ever had. I 've never had a bad meal. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful, and the prices are very reasonable, especially considering the caliber of food you 're getting. I had the seafood cannelloni with their signature pancetta vodka sauce tonight. Every bite was amazing! I ended up mopping up the remaining sauce with their delicious garlic knots, earning the clean plate award for my table. I definitely recommend eating here, you can 't go wrong!
