Sogo Bar - Noosaville

The menu is scarce, but has interesting special offers for cheap food. The bar is loud as in the English-speaking area. We were happy to enjoy the meal on the terrace. We had burgers and they were good.

To start, my family ordered garlic pizza. This was actually quite tasty. I ordered the vegetable fritters (an appetizer, I think) with a bowl of fries on the side as a main meal. The vegetable fritters were awful!! DO NOT GET THEM! I repeat, DO NOT GET THEM! They are mushy, and while they are supposed to be deep fried, they are nowhere near crispy or golden. Two of mine tasted alright, but one of them had a funny taste. They came with a coconut and pineapple cream. I was excited for this, as I love sweet and savoury food together. However, the coconut cream tasted like it was poured straight from a can, and little bits of pineapple were plonked on top. It wasn't great (very runny), and I cannot fathom why they thought that it would complement the fritters. The flavour combination wasn't awful, but it wasn't great either. The fries were average. They also got my family members order wrong twice, repeatedly giving her a schnitzel when she ordered a burger. However, they did offer a complimentary drink. The vegetable burger that my sister got was very tasty, and my Dad seemed happy with hi parmigiana. The beer battered chips were very good.The atmosphere was okay, but the staff were very nice. Food came out quite fast, and portion sizes were about average.All in all, average except for the awful fritters and coconut cream. Many better places around.

Beautiful food and great service. We had the steak and beef burger and it was delicious. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed...exactly what a pub meal should be

The place is a little tired decor wise but the food was really good - we had a Guinness beef pie and Fish and Chips washed down with a cold glass of sparkling and a pint - staff friendly - good eat and pretty reasonable.

Went for lunch here and it was a great price and yummy food, my hubby was a little dispointed with the chicken burger (a little dry) but I thought the beef burger was great. Had an Irish beer and relaxed with a couple of games of pool - over all a pleasant time.
