Gretzky's Wine & Whisky - Nisku

FENG SHUI? Fantastic atmosphere. Seems like it caters to an upper class of people. But prices are decent for airport dining.HOW MAY I HELP YOU? Service was good and attentive.FOODWe only had the chips which were great and fresh tasting.We ordered the Great one (drink) it looked horrible, but surprisingly flavourful and strong YAY OR NAH? Yay, good place for drinks and food with a nice atmosphere.

Obviously I ate here waiting for a flight. I could see the prices for food were a bit hefty, but have to say the chicken noodle Soup I ordered was both delicious and huge for the $8.

The fourth was Stella, which was off and flat. Where's the Craft Beer?So basically a typical high priced novelty restaurant with no standard of excellence...

I recently visited this restaurant and had a glass of white wine and the cheese platter. The wine was lovely and chilled, and the cheese platter had a variety of cheeses; some nuts; and some bread with mustard and a fruit spread on the side. The cheese platter would be a nice snack for two people.When I was there, the restaurant wasn't busy so I was able to sit at a table for three that had soft comfortable chairs. It was a very pleasant way to pass the time until my flight was ready to board, and my server (Zachary) was friendly, prompt and professional.This was my first visit to Gretzky's; however, I will definitely return to this restaurant the next time I am in the Edmonton airport.

My daughter & I stopped in for a snack & drink before our flight. My daughter is a Vegan & asked Curtis our waiter if the Naan bread had dairy in it. He said he didn't know but would ask. He walked by our table 3-4 times before telling us he didn't have an answer for us. Either he didn't ask the question or the kitchen was incompetent. If they make their food there, they should know what's in it. If they buy and bring it in the ingredients are on the packaging. I thought it was a requirement that you had to either display or have that information on hand. My daughter has just started working in the restaurant industry & knew this as a fact. As we had already ordered drinks I ordered something just for myself. When it came time to pay, Curtis brought our bill and when I offered up my credit card, he took it & left our table. When he came back I asked him why he took my card away, he replied that he does it all the time. I explained to him that I found that unexceptable & that for no reason should he have removed my credit card from my sight. He simply explained to me that they only use the hand held machines for debit & he takes the credit cards away ALL the time. I have never experienced a more uninformed & poorly trained employee of a restaurant ever and on top of it all he was offended that I had questioned his procedure. The good thing is there are so many good and well informed company's and employees out there we will never have to visit Wayne Gretzky's at the Edmonton airport again.
