We stumbled across this small town and this resturante when out touring in the area. Friendly staff and amazing food. The walls are covered in movie posters from films filmed in this area and the local roads are named after stars of the big screen, like Calle Clint Eastwood. Menu Del Dia is very reasonable.
The attraction of this place is the memorabilia of those Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns that were filmed here and which litter the walls and shelves of the restaurant. At weekends, they show continuous loops of the films (but they also put the price of the 9 euro menu up to 13 euros! . For 9 euros you get a salad starter followed by a choice of first plates and then another choice of second plates , bread, a drink and dessert. The service is good, the quality excellent and the quantity almost unmanageable! A must if you are in the area.
A bit surprised by the remoteness of the Hostal Alba and wondering whether we had made a wise choice. We entered the restaurant which was lively with what appeared to be locals having their lunch. Swiftly booked in and shown to a separate entrance for the hostal rooms. Small but adequate very clean twin room with plenty of blankets, air con/heating and extra pillows plus TV. FREE WiFi in all areas of the Hostal. Booked dinner bed and breakfast for 2 people £40. The evening meal from Menu de Dia was served in the dining room where spaghetti western photos adorn all the walls and a special tourist video of a film screened in the town were put on especially for us. Fresh salad, bread, seafood soup, tasty chicken and dessert with drinks all included. All served with a smile. Comfortable and quiet night's sleep in very comfortable beds and copious amounts of hot water for showers in the morning. Breakfast of fresh coffee and orange juice with a large tasted baguette of ham, cheese and tomato. For the price this was exceptional value for money and all served up a massive smile.
