Le Kalliste - Nice

I have known the proprietor for many years. The service has always been excellent, the quality of food is always very good, and there has always been a wide choice. For this reason the Kalliste has always been a very popular place to eat well during a shopping break, or when one has limited time.

Very nice place for a lunch at the Lingostiere shopping center north of Nice. They have a nice selection of classic bistro-style foods but I recommend the pizza. The guy working the pizza oven really knows what he's doing. Service is superior. Waiters are fast and efficient but they never make you feel rushed. You can take as long as you want; they, however, run their tails off. Many of them speak limited English. I recommend this place for another reason: the friendliness of the staff and other customers. This seems to be a place where you're pretty much expected to strike up a conversation with the folks at the next table. It's also telling how many customers kiss the staff when they come in. Clearly, they have a lot of regular customers. Also, it's a great place to watch French people eat. I'll bet 90% of the diners get some sort of meat and French fries (or pizza). So much for the French and their Mediterranean diets. The French are meat-and-potatoes people. When I was there this afternoon, my waiter brought out a DOG BOWL and put it on the floor for a little doggie few tables down. I wasn't able to see just what was in the bowl, but it was absolutely charming.

Eaten here many many times, always good bistro/brasserie/ French food and great pizzas. Something for everyone. Excellent service, waiters always ready to help.

We went with the family, five adults and two children very attracted to the great tropical fish aquarium that extends over a whole wall. we had taken different dishes and we were all satisfied with what we were served. even my nine-year-old nephew who doesn't like anything, but who eats mcd nuggets, said that the chicken nuggets he was served were much better. My English husband who knows about fish and chips said that fish and fries were good. the restaurant is very busy, but the service is friendly and efficient. It's a good place to recommend.

Despite the room almost full, very good reception, fast and professional service because many staff, who surprise us pleasantly today. interesting map, very honest quality of the dishes, prices in the middle region, otherwise flat from day to 11€50. A good restaurant at last.
