Thai Pothong - Newtown

Great experience, they have a completely separate gluten-free menu. I have eaten nervously here but had no problems afterwards. Eating is delicious, and the staff is incredibly friendly.

Thai pothong has been an institution in newtown for decades. only since the diagnosis with coeliac I realized that they have a huge dedicated gluten-free menu that encompasses many of the most popular dishes. I don't agree with other reviewers, they don't eat so to make their dishes gf. they have a complete separate GF menu that is full of taste and sauces. the waiters are good and helpful.

The GF menu is quite limited and in the round simply remove the sauce from the touching frits etc., so it is quite bland. there are better gf thai options in newtown.

The food here is incredibly delicious. They also offer a separate gluten-free menu with plenty of options. Plus, you can bring your own wine, which helps keep the costs down a bit.

I absolutely love this restaurant! The gluten-free menu offers a fantastic variety of options. The food is both delicious and fresh. The service is incredibly friendly without being overbearing. I visited with two friends for a leisurely lunch on a Sunday afternoon, and the waiter greeted us warmly upon arrival. He kept our glasses filled and made sure we never felt rushed. Our meals were served promptly and were simply wonderful. This has become my favorite spot whenever I’m in Newtown!
