Bidrage med feedbackThe good ole Marly was beautifully- air conditioned on an incredibly hot late afternoon in mid March and was just the place for my friends and I to procure a much-needed drink or two. The atmosphere was electric inside and the waiting staff hospitable and welcoming. Excellent indeed.
I asked for help from security because a bunch of Indian boys were harassing me, touching me and pushing me around front of the stage last night. I seeked assistance from secutity who saw what happened, and decided to ignore it. I turned to his colleuge, and this person on the photo told me he isn 't willing to confront those people involved. If you go to the dancefloor get used to it I left the club Sad reality check...these uneducated and unprofessional security guards do more damage than good.
Great for hamburgers and chips but both extremely salty. A very limited menu so not really what owe expected from an inner city pub; several different types of burgers and chicken wings alone do not make pub food . Very loud music killed conversation for our group of six. Decor is post-industrial 90s with bare brick and a distinct lack of warmth. I remember the hotel before this change and prefer it in its previous life. Maybe we were not the people the Marlborough is catering for but as downstairs was largely deserted Wednesday before Easter it could be that it is not a local pub anymore.
The Marlborough has the vibe of suburban megapubs and it seems like most customers have come in from the suburbs. Angry bouncers, miserable staff, angry customers, loud music and high prices. Sometimes you can get some space upstairs on the balcony or out the back.
Went in for a burger and a beer on a Sunday which were both great but sadly this pub had masses of people including walking tour groups walking straight through the front door and straight to the toilet, then walked straight out the door. The staff didn't seem the slightest bit concerned. Come on, sort it out.
