Carlisle Castle Bistro - Newtown

The Carlisle Castle is a great pub, if you are after a local friendly place for a drink. The bistro unfortunately changed hands in the last 6 months or so and gone from a place where you could get fresh modern Australian food, healthy and some less healthy, to a dude food, burger joint. The staff are very friendly, so it is a real pity that their food is not great. Given the large number of places serving similar food in Newtown, unfortunately this is more of the same and middle of the road.

Read a review by 'Time Out'- same place that rated the number one club in Sydney that was coincidentally closed, that stated this place add 'odd'. YES it is odd this is the only place in Newtown that still encapsulates the old inviting feeling of Newtown. Where everyone is accepted. Amazing staff. Amazing locals. It should be a secret. But who's going to read this anyway.

Read a review with 'Time Out'- Selon Place, in which the number One-Club was rated in Sydney, which was randomly closed, explained that this place was added "strange". Yes, it's strange that's the only place in Newtown, which is still enclosed the old inviting sense of Newtown. Where everyone is accepted. Amazing staff. Amazing locals. It should be a secret. But who will read this anyway.

Unfortunately, the bistro has changed her hands in the last 6 months and gone from a place where she could get fresh modern Australian food, healthy and less healthy, a guy food, burger joint. Grief The staff is very friendly, so it's a true pity that your food is not great. In view of the large number of places that serve a similar food in Newtown, this is unfortunately rather the same and the middle of the road.

Some friends, who used to live in Newtown and know about the hidden backstreet wonder that is the Carlisle, took me there last night.
