Southside - Newtown (Greater Geelong)

Big fan of Southside. Love the food, have had something from nearly all the main food groups. Burgers, tacos, burritos, big breaky Top coffee. Love the vibe of the place, especially hanging in the greenery of the front sun room with a group of friends.

Absolutely love this place! I've just moved to the area and this is definitely going to be my local I've been there every weekend! I've had the tacos and different baguettes and they are all delicious. The pizzas look amazing and the coffee is great. This is a funky place with great food and friendly staff!

This has to be shared as I think it is the most disgusting and rude experience I had as a customer. I was recently introduced in southside café on pakington st newtown and became a regular until yesterday! the owner is the most aggressive and ignorant man I have surpassed. he sat next to us, was eves falling on our conversation then continuing to tell us about a freaky comment I made. my coffee was not as I had ordered, so I wanted to draw attention to one of the workers and actually said, excuse me twice when she went by, but at the end I took my coffee to replace the counter. not only did he hear everything...read more

The first time I visited this caffe, we had a great experience. beautiful coffee, good food and the staff were attentive. I make a large amount of customer meetings in geelong, spending a crazy amount of money over the month and wanted to find a great place for this meeting. I had hoped I had found it, but yesterday on my second visit I realized how wrong I had arrived for a customer meeting and ordered coffee. when I was wondering at the table, I noticed a strong smell of confessed cigarettes that seemed to come from the man on the next table. Great coffee, eating fits and nice people. the vibe makes a lot to sell this place, and the plants and beautiful pictures on the wall is lovely. I was quite disappointed with my $18 salat. it tasted like reheated rice, a pretty pristine Slave with a little crispy broccolini in an uninspiring soy dress. I don't know what I expected, but this court was under the standard of the rest of my experience and drastically over price. the other dinge on the menu sounded delicious, but as their only Vego option, it was subduing. I'm optimistic that I just ordered badly and looked good at everything else. but again, coffee service were ace
