Aki Japanese Kitchen - Newton

Have been wanting to check this place out for a while and finally got the chance. Because of COVID they are to go orders only so I phoned in my order and waited. As I waited my wife decided she needed a haircut next door so I get my food and am eating in my car. Food was great and as I’m sitting there eating all of a sudden an employee is at my window with napkins with a sorry didn’t realize that you were eating in your car. I’ve had worse service at a place I was sitting at a table. Great food great above and beyond service. If I’m ever back in town I’ll be swinging by.

My first review stands, the people are great. I love the Ramen and sushi. However, they are slow. Orders can take more than an hour to be ready to pick-up and then the food that should be hot is luke warm at best. I keep giving the chances to improve but it's alway the same slow service.

Very tasty ramen and sushi! Pickup is usually fast but I understand they sometimes are understaffed.

Aki’s Ramen is some of the best I have found here in Kansas (recently moved here from Southern California). The cha-shu is authentic and melts in your mouth. I highly recommend giving this place a try especially if you’re looking for great ramen or love noddle soups in general.

They have the best sushi ever! Never tried anything else from here though.
