Mama Leone's - Newport

I have been twice and I really like their CalzonesThe employees are always welcoming and very politeGreat pizza.

Saturday afternoon, NBA playoffs, wife and I feel in the mood for pizza.

The pizza and meatballs subs are good, about what you'd expect.

The place is buried. with construction of demolition containers on the parking lot. obviously closed. I am not from here and visit nc. it could be closed to be only renovated.

Unhappy. many years ago I lived in newport and ate many miraculous meals from this restorer, after 20 years I returned and rejoiced on mamas spinat cake. what I got was a sub par pizza w spinat. the owner( assured me that it was the cake that I remembered, to my contempt, it was nothing like the spinach cake I remember. that was a light crust, beautifully spiced spannakoiipita like clazone w spinat and some cheese. this was karton crust with cheese oovered and some spinat totally lacks spicy or taste. I'm totally disappointed. I will like to remember the meal I once enjoyed, but will never return
