Vic North Cafe Classes - Newport

Fish and Fizz on Thursdays. Very tasty dishes and attentive staff.

Absolutely delicious lunch. Hake and fennel, Newport bay crab cakes, hamburger, all first rate and made with love. Friendly service too. An antidote to some of the awful rubbish served up along he Pembrokeshire coastal path.

I tried the Thursday menu (as seen in the picture) and found it to be overpriced. There were only three scallops on the plate, and the pancetta was undercooked, which made it unappetizing. The herb crusted haddock had a pre-made taste. The vegetables, which included mange tout and green beans, wouldn’t be my first choice. Additionally, the sparkling wine was low-quality.

This is a fantastic restaurant! The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and the simple dishes are executed exceptionally well. I highly recommend it!

One of the few places in Newport that let me down. The food was mediocre, and the service was just okay. On a positive note, the salt was nice!
