Bidrage med feedbackGood service even though it wes a pantomime day, nice coffee good prices and deals on coffee cake etc
Visited sat afternoon with my grandson before a show. Cafe was quiet when I ordered my burger and fries but got busier as time passed..and more time passed. After 20 mins+ I asked (politely) a member of staff how much longer my order might be. After telling me how busy they were and there were people before me she then asked if I would rather it served before it was cooked!!! She then commented to a colleague about a woman complaining about the wait. As I returned to my table my meal majically turned up. Whoever is the manager, you need to get your staff some customer service training.
We had chai tea lattes here when we came to the centre to see a Bonsai tree exhibition. The person who served us hadn't made a chai tea latte before and was clearly very nervous about it, but she was polite and friendly. There is a nice view over the river, so somewhere I'd recommend if you don't fancy the chain restaurants in Friar's Walk.
Went to singalong Calamity Jane yesterday. Booked afternoon tea for myself and my cousin. Cost £15 each for 4 cheese finger sandwiches 4 ham. I scone. Clotted cream Jam two tiny Quiches 2 or 3 tiny cakes. A tiny pot of tea per person which was eventually served at the very end, after we had eaten! Service was extremely disorganised although the staff were very nice! Very disappointed!
Ten of us (7 adults, 3 little children) visited on New Year's Eve for the matinee performance of Aladdin (which was excellent this is a review of the cafe, which wasn't). We were among the first there, just after 12 noon. We placed our orders shortly thereafter or rather tried to the staff seemingly didn't know what they had in and kept on having to check whether they had stock of whatever menu selection we wanted. I ended up having to go for my fifth choice which would have been frustrating if we were there at the end of the day but we were the at the very start. My third or fourth choice was the burger (I didn't mind whether it was the beef or the chicken burger) I was told they were off the menu as they didn't have any burger rolls! The staff also seemed to be put out every time I asked for a different substitute menu choice and then didn't seem to know where to find it on the till. My brother in law was told that they didn't have a child's dish of cheese and broccoli, despite it being one of the children's menu options. (They didn't have menus at the till so we had to go and get menus to show them). To make matters far worse, they'd lost his order so their food wasn't delivered to the table until after 1pm! Even then it was only because he'd had to ask/chase a number of times. Next time we'll choose a restaurant in town where the staff are pleasant, polite, knowledgeable and cheerful and where they have enough food in the kitchen to enable customers to enjoy their preferred choice of meal. Sadly the restaurant at the Riverfront was an utter shambles, with dour, unapologetic and seemingly clueless staff and management.
