This is the perfect spot for breakfast, a quick snack, or an afternoon meal. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is incredibly friendly. I make a special effort to visit this place because it is truly worth it.

The service and greeting were excellent. The melted cheese on the crumpet was a perfect choice for a late morning snack. This is a great place for cyclists to stop for a bite, especially if shopping at Edinburgh Cycles nearby.

Great service, great food, great atmosphere. We were there on a busy Saturday night and we still received excellent service from the staff, especially Amy. Water for me, tap with lemon and ice. radgie gadgie , a great bitter for her. Started with Black Pudding scotch egg and pate. lovely. I had duck cooked just right, and my wife had a burger which she eventually has to ask for a doggy bag .. We ran out of time for pud but a good range offered. Do go!

We came across this cafe by chance but we were greeted as if we were friends. We visit as regularly as possible now when we are in the ares. The food is varied and there are always 'specials ' on. Extremely good value and the staff members are lovely. Proper food,all home made and the fact we see alot of the same people each time we go shows how many other people think it 's the hub of Shields Road! Your wallet won 't regret it. The mince and dumplings are to die for!
