The French Oven - Newcastle upon Tyne

This restaurant in the heart of Newcastle is a fantastic little gem. The baked goods are fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented, and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend it!

We absolutely love The French Oven. Huge fresh selection to choose from and amazing customer service every time. Cup cakes for Mother’s Day went down a treat with the whole family and we’ve recently been to a birthday party they catered for and the food was outstanding, everyone commented on how good it was. Definitely worth a visit

Bought four steak kidney pies from here, could not taste any kidney very peppery, in fact all I could taste was pepper. My partner myself ate two, but threw the other two away. Waste of money, but will not use again. Also customers are expected to wear face masks, but the staff at the French Oven do not.

The cherry scones crumbled easily, while the date and walnut scones lacked noticeable pieces of date or walnut. Both were overly sweetened with sugar.

Bought two focaccia and two loaves while visiting them at Palace Green Durham very,very disappointed. Focaccia is purely Stotties with tomato and garlic on the top the cheese and onion one was the same, the bread was nothing to write home about still the birds will have a good feed
