Snackwallah - Newcastle upon Tyne

Updated from my previous 2018 review to reflect a new location in the market and price increases. Situated in a most pleasant section of Grainger Market, away from the sight and rancid stench of the butchers and fishmongers. The vibrant Snackwallah has found such an extremely popular home here. You will find delicious Indian street food at fantastic prices. We had a pakora plate with chutneys at £4, a curry of the day for £7 and a bowl of dhal with rice at £5. Two cups of spicy massala chai tea at £2 each made a most reasonable £20 Lunch for two. Plenty of seating is now available. Vegan Indian street food in Newcastle! Who said modern life was rubbish? Brilliant little place. Food was amazing, so tasty, I inhaled mine My husband had the platter and I had daal and rice with the samosas, nom. Lots to choose from. Good prices. Nice staff

Great selection. Really tasty. I had the Mumbai sandwich but will definitely be back to try more. Has seating inside about 10 tables. Very popular. Updated from previous review on 2023 12 21

Enjoyed the options here. Had the curry of the day and something else that I can’t remember the name of, but it was all nice. Quirky little place with nice staff. Moderate to good prices. Great to have a little place like this that’s 100% vegan.

I had the samosa chaat and it was so delicious. Really fresh ingredients and incredibly tasty. I can’t stop thinking about it!
