The Carpenters Arms - Newbury

Great little find for somewhere to stay! Had a lovely little annex in the lovely cottage next door. although the double doors into the room could do with some attention.. the room was lovely with an array of teas, chocolate coffee. Staff were great very helpful.

We stayed over for a few days walking Watership Down, Wayfarers Way, Brenda Parker Way, Beacon Hill etc. Beautiful trails from the door. The accommodation is really nice and amazing value for money. The vegetarian food was spectacular and very reasonably priced. The freshly cooked to order breakfasts were really nice and the icing on the cake was the perfect coffee. We'll be back, thanks very much to the new owners and staff.

The second time we have stayed here and have to say that it is one of the most friendly, attentive and generous hotels in which I stayed. the walk in the shower in the room 1 was amazing, free coronations / cake and coffee for the coffee machine, shower gel and breakfast etc. all included. only to see that on Sunday there is no food served after 4 o'clock, the next restaurant is like 5 miles away and will be booked quickly so without local tears they can be stuck for eating on Sunday, any other day eat served late. really a great hotel, very helpful and friendly every time I needed help or requested something. the room that shows his old a little, but nothing a little color and update would not heal, but actually found it a very nice laid room and pub. incredibly quiet in the night, big bathroom and breakfast (as last time, we also come here amazingly. Go on. be back soon!

It is a beautiful pub with great food! the rooms are as expected, the staff is helpful and very fried. loved our stay and recommend every dish of the chef offers! excellent staff and local guests. they would look in again! can recommend. what a great stay!

Wow! What an amazing place! We stayed here for work and arrived quite late because of some travel issues. The staff were incredibly friendly upon our arrival! My room was absolutely beautiful, and I had the best night's sleep I've had in ages! The full English breakfast the next morning was simply perfect! Thank you so much!
