The Nook - Newbury Park

The nook was easy to reach from the autobahn and found it random. it is a larger than average dining room and also opposite seat. I like a simple breakfast and had eggs, potatoes and pancakes. the two pancakes were large with powder sugar and were really good. my sister had the chicken crest, which were super tasty, a large portion of agitation and carrots. coffee was also really good. our server was super sweet and checked several times for us. we received a great breakfast and a great service, the prices are a little on the high side, but the quality of our food and our great service for them.

This place was off the hook! I first ordered from them via DoorDash and had a great experience, then one day driving by I decided to stop in. Restaurant was clean and so were the bathrooms. Staff said to pick any open table and brought menus right over. Food came out quick and was delicious! The omelette had a bit too much spinach in it but that’s ok. Pancakes soaked up all the syrup and the waffle was cooked perfect. We all eat family style so we are like royalty. Staff was younger but they did an amazing job attending to us, cleaning, serving, etc. very mature experience. I will go back for sure.

The food is fantastic but the service is horrendous. The food: Nooks Crunchy Toast is off the charts delicious... Fresh and tasty. The La Fonda scramble was full of flavor and wonderful. The service: most of the tables are empty at 11:30 on a Saturday and there are at least half a dozen servers standing around looking at their phones with their backs to the customers. We had to continually flag down someone to order, to get drink refills, to get our check... Ridiculous.

My family and I celebrated my daughter's birthday. I expected a restaurant feel and not a high school cafeteria. Service was slow from the moment we entered the restaurant until we left. Our server was not very pleasant and I was made to feel I was interrupting her day. The food was slightly above room temperature, the toast was burnt, and the coffee tasted burnt. We went due to a recommendation but left quite disappointed. Perhaps noon is a bad time to go for brunch.

Worst food ever!!!I ordered the burrito, the beans were so hard I almost broke a tooth. The food was so badly cooked, I couldn’t eat a thing. The home style potatoes were so rubbery and gross. Who cooks here? Please , if you work here , PLEASE TASTE THE FOOD BEFORE YOU SERVE IT!! This is the absolute worst food, I don’t know how these people stay in business. I wasted time ordering here, I got all my money back from Grubhub so I just had to throw it all away and order from a place that knows how to cook food. SMH
