I had the worst experience at this restaurant. I ordered my steak medium, but after waiting over an hour, I received it well done. The manager didn’t even offer an apology. On the bright side, the waiter was very attentive. However, I won’t be returning to this place.
New ownership has brought some disappointing changes to this restaurant. The food is now terrible, with what seems like reheated leftovers. The atmosphere is quite dark and loud, resembling a lackluster hole-in-the-wall pub. It used to be a clean, well-lit establishment with excellent service, fresh food, and a vibrant crowd. Unfortunately, it has now declined into a run-down place.
I visited the restaurant during the Brazilian festival on Sunday and had a disappointing experience. I received a drink I didn't order, and when I inquired about it, I faced a lot of attitude from the bartenders. I asked if my drink was a mojito because it tasted overwhelmingly of alcohol, and one of the bartenders told me to calm down. I won’t be returning because of the poor attitude. I hope others have a better experience, as I've heard many positive things about this bar, especially its reputation for being women-friendly. However, if the bartenders can't communicate respectfully, I’ll take my business elsewhere.
It’s no longer Estrela da Ponderosa; now it’s Barretos! I attended a birthday party on the second floor, and during the only time we went downstairs to the bar for drinks, it took the bartender five minutes to figure out our order. We simply wanted three shots: vodka, Jack Daniel’s, and sambuca—nothing fancy. There were six staff members working behind the bar, yet we still had to call for their attention. On the plus side, they do have live music on weekends, mostly Brazilian, I think. Anyway, take a look and see for yourselves.
