Dinosaur B Que Newark

#1 I had reservations but ended up waiting an hour for a table. #2 The staff was identifiable, but their attire was inconsistent and questionable, with some wearing ripped jeans and varied clothing styles. #3 When a side dish was unavailable, the staff didn't offer an alternative to one member of my party, so we only received one side. #4 The paging system was inadequate; I couldn’t hear anything over the loud music and chatter from other patrons. #5 When the food finally arrived, it was below room temperature, almost cold. I understand it was an “event” night due to the NJ Devils hockey game, but the service could have been much better, even considering the busy atmosphere.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. We waited 90 minutes without eating, and they had run out of ribs and chicken—it's unbelievable for a grilling place to be out of those items. Our poor server was overwhelmed with too many tables and did their best to get us drinks and food, but the restaurant was completely mismanaged and failed on so many levels. Waiting an hour and a half for food is unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend this franchise of Dinosaur BBQ, especially since I've had great experiences at their locations in other cities like Rochester.

As far as chain restaurants go, I found the quality of food and service to be excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The ribs were delicious, and the sides, which included greens, mac and cheese, and cucumber salad, were also very good. Our waiter, Derrick, was helpful and courteous, providing exceptional service. I would definitely return and recommend this restaurant.

Been to the original one in Syracuse so decided to try the one in Newark. Was pretty good although they ran out of 2 side dishes. Our server was very attentive and quick to take our orders. All-in-all the food was good as expected. Great price for a great rack of ribs.
