Chimi Place - Newark

The chimi was absolutely delicious; it had the authentic flavor of a traditional Dominican chimi. I would highly recommend it!

The empanadas are extremely dry and completely lack any meat—it's literally just an "empaNADA." The yaroas are mediocre at best; they don't even follow the traditional lasagna method but just toss on some meat and cheese and call it good. I suggest checking out Empanadas Monumental across the street instead. I usually end up here as a last option and always remember why it's my last choice, haha. Seriously, save yourself the trouble!

The food was delicious, but our order was missing shrimp and was instead changed to chicken. It took a long time for them to prepare the dish, and we were there for over an hour with no one else dining at the time. Overall, it wasn't worth the wait. I'll give it another chance in the future to see if they improve.

It was my first and last time ordering from here. They sent me the wrong vevida, and the ripe banana yaroa was more like green bananas. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.
