Bidrage med feedbackThe salads—potato, health, and coleslaw—were absolutely delicious, though they are only offered in half-pint containers. The tuna fish sandwich was delightful, but the pastrami sandwich was a significant letdown. It was clear that the pastrami was made from actual brisket, as evidenced by the one-inch strips, but the meat was sliced paper-thin using a machine, which detracted from the experience. This method of slicing not only made the pastrami overly salty, but it also masked the traditional flavor that makes pastrami so enjoyable. Additionally, the pickles, which I fondly recall being delicious from the old Lower East Side, were a disappointment as well; they lacked any real flavor for me. Overall, it was a mixed experience.
Charming old-school establishment with a great variety of food and exceptionally friendly staff. It's a shame there aren't more places like this!
Murray's offers the absolute best smoked fish around! We've sampled smoked fish from every deli, and without a doubt, Murray's stands out as the finest. It's our top choice whenever we're craving something delicious. We highly recommend it, and the staff at the store are fantastic as well!
Murray’s Sturgeon Shop gives the impression of stepping back into 1955. The staff behind the counter are incredibly friendly. I really appreciate when a restaurant with such a rich history maintains its original charm in the interior. I tried the spinach and egg dish, which I believe also had jalapeño in it, served on a bialy. They mentioned that they don't toast the bialys, but I found it refreshing that they communicated this in a kind way, and the bialy was still quite delicious.
We head in from NJ every few weeks, and make a point of stopping at Murray's for some Scottish Salmon, cream cheese, herring, dried fruit. Wish we lived closer, I'd be here all the time!
