Bidrage med feedbackGreat ambiance and location. Gantry park and the gorgeous Manhattan skyline appears as a mosaic across the east river if you are sitting outside. The chef is talented, food is quality, and the cocktails are chic and unique. The service, however, is just ok. As someone who has come to dine here for mainly brunch over the past 3 years, it feels as if management changes in 2023. Although the staff are generally pleasant they can be too laissez-faire resulting in the wait times to put an order in, turnaround time to receive order, have water or beverage refilled is just for the prices charged on this dining experience. Recommend as a top 5 brunch spot if you 're in LIC.
I LOVE this place. It’s of course great for brunch or dinner or drinks with the scrumptious food and lovely water view, but we just had our baby shower here and I couldn’t be happier with how I turned out. Working with the restaurant was seamless and SO easy. They have a pastry chef on staff that made THE MOST delicious and beautiful cake and the space they provided us was private, beautiful and they let me take the reins with decor. They even made custom drink and food menus that matched my theme! Additionally, service day-of was impeccable. All this and it was an extremely cost effective option compared to a lot of places in LIC and Astoria. Can’t wait to host another event at American Brass!
I take no pleasure in providing negative feedback. However, after our experience at American Brass today I felt it necessary. This was our 2nd time eating at American Brass. The first time was on December 3, our anniversary, and we had an amazing brunch. We couldn’t wait to come back we had the Crocque Madam sandwich and French Toast and both were extremely tasty. We also had a side order of the chicken sausage that was so very good. When we arrived today the Crocque Madam was no longer on the menu darn! However, they did have a breakfast sandwich that had the chicken sausage so I ordered that. My wife ordered the crispy chicken sandwich. When my sandwich arrived it didn’t have the chicken sausage on it, but rather some over done dry bacon. To make a long story shorter, turns out the menu had an error in it, and American Brass no longer has the chicken sausage. One of the wait staff told me that the “owner” printed the menus in error. When I let her know how much I had enjoyed the Crocque Madam on our previous visit, she said that they still make that and that it should have been on the menu! In my opinion, as soon as they realized the error they should have immediately let us know that we would not be charged for the sandwich. Unfortunately, we had to ask for that courtesy and the wait staff had to ask the “owner.” Regarding my wife’s crispy chicken sandwich, it was heavy on the “crispy” and light on the “chicken”! Almost all breading with only a thin piece of chicken breast. As much as I would like to keep American Brass in our rotation of restaurants where we like to dine, I’m afraid that we won’t be returning.
Good place. We were lucky to get a table on a Saturday night so I would highly recommend making a reservation. Food and service were excellent. Decor is good although the tile on the half side of the wall is a bit questionable and reminds me of a bathroom wall especially with the mirrors. It was kind of loud since a group was having a private party but considering it wasn’t a separate room perhaps the music can be a tad lower so as to be considerate of other folks dining and wanting to converse with each other ? overall it was a good experience. Will give them a try again some time.
Saved our Thanksgiving!Regrettably, my First Officer and I were stuck in LIC for Thanksgiving evening, with nowhere to go and basically nothing worth while to eat. Very last minute.American Brass was open and offering a Thanksgiving menu, however the restaurant was fully booked. I reached out to the GM, Michael Lopez, and he took the time to speak with me and offer accomodations either at the bar, or possibly last minute seating. We spoke a few times before or arrival to be certain.Once we arrived he managed to get us a table for two, despite that fact that, within in hour or so, the restaurant was completely packed. I watched walk ins turned away because of the capacity.Just that attention to customer service won us over, not to mention that the Thanksgiving menu was fantastic! From the appetizer to dessert! Not often you find a place that gives a damn anymore. They could have just add easily said Fully booked and hung up.Special thanks to Michael and American Brass! I 'll be back in my future overnights.
