Hyack Sushi - New Westminster

Last week, we were invited to a tasting at Hyack Sushi which is located in New West. The location is perfect because it is just across the street from the New West skytrain station! The restaurant only opened for a few months but already has steady traffic. The space used to be a school but they have fully renovated the space to fit a kitchen and dining area. One great thing is that there is free parking in the back

Today I was invited to a media sneak peak at the newly opened “Hyack” Japanese Restaurant, conveniently located across the street from New Westminster skytrain station. At this point they were only a month and a half old, so the meal below was not only a look at their upcoming Christmas special, but their menu as a whole.

A new sushi restaurant popped up next to Douglas College during October.  They seemed to have been renovating all summer and finally opened. This is from their front street entrance:. Ordered a few dishes to share with my boyfriend and got some great recommendations from our server. The staff never once made me feel rushed (we came in an hour before close so I made sure we left in a timely manner anyways). First time trying hot sake and it was great! Also had the assorted sushi combo, pumpkin croquettes, gomae rolls, and I can't remember the names of the others. The food was absolutely delicious! Wish we had a place this good back home.

Can't remember howany times I've been here, always love to come here, their food is always fresh and top quality. They also have happy hour drink and food specials from 3-6pm every day, which is such a good value. Their salmon bomb is my favorite specialty sushi and I get it every time when I come!
