Bidrage med feedbackBest landing. Best people. Been back fishing for 17 years. Been to every landing. This is my favorite. Pursuit, Freedom, Amigo, Pride,Native Sun and the Monte Carlo.
22nd street is by far the best fishing company in all of SoCal. If you are looking for a half day, full day, multi day trip targeting rockfish to bluefin tuna welcome to all ages then look no further. I've been a customer for over two seasons, and take it from me, someone who fishes from LA down to San Diego, if you live locally innLA/Orange County, this is the place to go because of the commitment to customers the captain has looking for fish, quality customer service, clean boats and facilities, and outstanding service at the landing. Not to mention free parking! All of the boats great, but my personal favorites are the pursuit with Captain Gus, and the freedom with Captain Trevor. Both captains want you to to catch fish more than you want to catch fish. They work relentlessly and tirelessly going above and beyond and I'm not afraid to burn gas and go overtime to make sure everyone has a fair chance of catching the prized fish of a lifetime.
My company puts together a fishing trip for 40 of us managers but only 15 showed which gave us the whole ship to ourselves.... The captain and the crew on this charter were 1st class!!! From the beginning to the end their expertise and their assistance while fishing made for an awesome day!! The food well there's nothing like ship food nice greasy cheeseburgers I think at 1 time we did triple cheeseburgers the breakfast burritos the sandwiches everything was great!! Everyone on the ship caught enough fish to go home happy someone was more than others but overall I think no one left with less than 6 fish each.. About an hour out the head deck hand started filling everyone's fish a man he was a beast finishing everything before we hit the dock!! We'll definitely be back for future charters and hopefully the next one could be an overnight!
I went on a fishing trip on 06-05-2023 on the Pursuit at 22nd Street Landing with some of friends and co-workers. We damn near filled the boat with almost 30 in our group out of 37 anglers. I'm not an expert fisherman, but even I know that sometimes there will be days when the boat will get skunked, and Monday was one of them. It's unfortunate, but it happens. From what we saw, I'm pretty sure the boat only 2 barracuda, 2 calico bass, 1 bonito, and 2 halibut (that they released). The next day 22nd Street Landing posted on their website that we caught barracudas, halibut, sheepshead, calico bass, and a bunch of White Sea Bass. I had been checking the fish count for the 3 days prior and didn't post their numbers for those previous days. Could this have been a clerical error? Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. My beef with this is that it can be bad business practice to post wrong numbers and trick potential customers into booking when the fish aren't biting. If the fishing is bad, offer promotional discounts, not false fish count numbers.
Deck hands were cool. But the fishing sucked. They lied on the fishing report on caught 06/05. Boat was clean otherwise just slow day fishing. Fish at your own risk. Love fishing in Santa Barbara better.
