Mikey Dubb’s Frozen Custard

Love this place. Always accommodating and deliver via Doordash or UberEATS.

The frozen custard is 5 stars but the kids working there would rather be somewhere else. Lousy customer service when they finally do acknowledge your presence while lamenting how bad it is that they have to be working there.

Usually love this place, but just went in at 930ish (they close at 10). One worker was in the back breaking things down and cleaning, the other was helping the customers. About 10 minutes later, I ordered a milkshake for my daughter and was told I can 't, it 's already been broken down. I responded but you 're open for another 20 minutes?! He had no answer for me. Is it typical practice to clean things that early? Because it was done before I even walked in.

Not only is this custard ice cream unique and unbelievably fresh, but the owner and his staff make every visit a pleasure. They were supremely responsible during the height of COVID, they're supportive of the community and they are kind and responsive to everyone who walks through the door. The staff is clearly well-trained and treated well, because they pass the kindness along. Most importantly, you'll find both flavors you hadn't even dreamed of (but become your new favorites! as well as the very best versions of old standards.

During my visit to Harlem with a friend, I decided to stop by Mikey Dubbs, a place I had heard about for some time. I’m glad we did! It's not easy to find authentic custard on the East Coast, but this spot offers the real deal. The gentleman who served us was incredibly friendly and attentive; I assume he might be the owner given his professionalism and engaging demeanor. I would certainly return. The restaurant was busy, which is a good sign of quality. Plus, the prices were reasonable, especially considering the rising costs everywhere else. I definitely recommend checking it out!
