Kahakai Poke Bowls - New Plymouth

The service here is fantastic. Just mention that you're vegan, and they'll take care of you. There's always at least one vegan option on the main menu, which is impressive considering it's quite a simple menu. The teriyaki tofu is a standout. In the winter, they offered a tempeh bowl as a limited-time option. To make standard bowls vegan, you can easily request to omit the Japanese mayo.

These poke bowls are as visually stunning as they are delicious! They’re packed with a variety of fresh vegetables, and the tofu and rice are incredibly tasty. It's a fantastic bowl filled with so many wonderful ingredients. I do wish they offered vegan mayo and another protein option, but it's definitely worth a try!

We really enjoyed our tempeh poke bowls; the ingredients were fresh, colorful, and delicious. The staff was also very friendly. Although we wanted to try the tofu, it wasn't available at the moment, but we still loved what we ordered.
