Schatzi's Pub And Bier Garden Of New Paltz

I’m assuming we just got bad dishes from all the great reviews posted on Google Yelp but unfortunately, ours was very bad. I ordered the black bean burger which was completely mushy, when I say “mushy” I mean MUSHY. It had the consistency of pudding. My partner ordered the tacos the bratwurst which seems easy not to mess up. The bratwurst had a bone the size of a large tooth. Tacos were okay but subpar for the price. Overall, pretty bad experience being that this was the first time we’ve tried it. Would’ve ordered differently.

I took my husband and our friends here for dinner last night to celebrate my husband's birthday. The pub was busy and they were short staffed with only 2 cooks in the kitchen, but they still managed to provide excellent service and were very accommodating to our needs/wants. The quality of the food was outstanding as usual. I forgot our waitress's name, but she was the assistant manager and creator of the absolutely delicious Boozy Apple drink. She was friendly and kind,

Loved this place. Outside dining, service, menu, food quality...all top shelf. Perhaps a bit pricey but offset by how enjoyable the night was.

First time to New Paltz (driving through) and stopped to check out the town. Our preferred brew pub wasn't open so we opted for Schatzi's. Glad we did. Everything was great. No wait, sat outside in the covered patio, service was excellent, beer options diverse and food choices extensive. But the best part was the quality of the food which we found to be very good. If back in town we would definitely revisit. Only critique is it was a bit pricey, but the positive experience made that less a concern.

The rub was excellent. It took a while for our food to arrive, even though we were the only table seated at the time. The dishes were definitely made fresh, not from frozen ingredients with an institutionalized taste. The wings were crispy and well seasoned.
