Arnaud's Jazz Bistro - New Orleans

Service was excellent and the band was amazing. really a unique experience.

Service was exceptionally bad. the cocktail/wine server was inept, rude and argumentatiw. she couldn't find the first wein we ordered so we chose another one. she couldn't find that. After 30 minutes, she brought the 3rd choice. she had no idea how to open it. all services were very slow. eating was excellent when it finally arrived.

The personal, eating, musicians all contributed to a fantastic culinary experience for us.

Food was ok, underwhelming for price and accolades. Cocktails were good. Most disappointing was choosing the jazz bistro as our spot for dinner based on the impression there would be live jazz during supper. We arrived a little early for our reservation so managed to hear a couple of songs (which were lovely) But then 2 of the musicians took a break from 8.30 to 9.35 leaving 1 musician sitting and scrolling phone in a quiet and kind of boring dining room instead. Charged $12 music charge, which would have been happy to pay, and more, had we actually been able to experience music during meal. Had we known we would’ve chosen a different spot as limited time in the city and it felt a bit like time/money wasted tbh

We loved our evening at the Jazz Bistro. The musicians make the atmosphere really enjoyable and they put in special effort to help all diners feel involved and special. This is not our first time dining here, but we must admit that it was not quite as good as last time. We were told that they did not have any steak knives when my husband asked for one for his entree—he was forced to cut his steak with a butter knife (actually, the same exact knife he used for his appetizer and bread and butter) which was kinda odd. There also seemed to be some confusion around which tasks belonged to each staff member—our water glasses were not regularly filled because it seemed like the the sever was waiting for someone else to do it and the staff also took a very long time to get a bottle of wine to our table after ordered (despite ordering it during our first course, our entrees were proactively done by the time it got to us). Over all, it was a good experience but not quite as great as previous visits. We will be back though!
