Jane's Seafood Chinese - New Iberia

1st time here and I enjoyed the Seafood Platter. Gannon was our waiter for our party of 9 and he did a good job. The tarter sauce was outstanding.

The server was expedia and accurate, atmosphere friendly and welcoming.

Wonderful food. The only thing I didn't like was the oyster in my gumbo. Service was top-notch. The broiled oysters are the best!

On yesterday 5/22/24 I arrived at Janes and was seated by the host. I was waiting for another guest to arrive. I was seated in the party room in the corner. The party room was filled with a large party and another table in front of our table. I needed to use the restroom, no one was there to inform that I would return shortly due to me having to go the restroom. I then proceeded to head to the restroom, I returned no more than 5 minutes later to find my table filled with all of the drinks for the large party tables across from my table. No one still came to acknowledge me or even ask me what I wanted to drink. My guest arrived a few minutes later and we sat there for 15 more minutes before she got up and went to the waitress that was tending to the table in front of us, no still came and by this time it was 30mins that had gone by. We were the only Blacks back there and we took it as a racial insult. I then proceeded to go and speak with the manager and he just looked at me as if I was talking in Chinese. We were sent a waitress that works the bar to take our order but I was furious at this point and we left. We are regular customers at Janes and have NEVER Been treated the way we were treated yesterday. I will not be returning. This make no sense.

Ive never had a bad experience at Janes. Food is superb, even the hushpuppies are absolutely heavenly. My goodness when a resturant takes the time to hushpuppies right, you know the rest of the menu is 2nd to none. Thank you for ur consistency and attention to making our experience a great one. Lafayette may have more restaurants, but its the quality that keeps me coming back to Jane's time and time again
