Thistle - New Glasgow

Great pub food-especially fish and chips and wraps and wings. good prices. However on the downside it could certainly use a facelift and a top notch cleaning.

Went to this bar for the first time tonight, i ordered chicken Jalepeno sandwhich with salad, the salad I ordered explained there was fruit in it.. no fruit only raisins. The dressing was suppose to be citrusy (came on the side) I dipped my fork...More

The Thistle is located between a bowling alley and a Multiplex Theatre a short distance off the main drag. A typical sports bar with one very large screen and several smaller supporting screens. Had a late lunch and all was good. Standard beer selection but had some unique food offerings. Service was good food was okay, overall experience was good, but not a character place.

Pub fare was very tasty from the wings to the steak, wraps and grilled club . 5 of us say it was tasty food. Beer is served is a frozen mug. Nice touch.

My husband and I had lunch here today, January 18, 2017. It was the best meal I have had in a long time. I had the Four Seasons salad. It consisted of a spring lettuce mix, red onions, grape tomatoes, strawberries, blueberries, and goat cheese. I added a chicken breast. It is served with citrus vinaigrette dressing and garlic bread. The salad was fresh, crisp and very tasty. It is an ample serving. I will go back soon just to have this salad. My husband had a bacon cheese burger and fries. The burger was tasty, moist and cooked to perfection. The fries were excellent...crisp and perfectly cooked. Service was good, we didn't wait long. It was a great experience. We hadn't been in to Thistle for quite awhile, but we will go back soon.
