Capitol Lunch - New Britain

I grew up eating Capital Lunch hotdogs, I love them so much and your home made sauce is amazing, my mouth is watering just to think of it. One of the best restaurants in New Britain Connecticut. I live in Orlando Florida now but ever time I go back home the first and last thing I do is go get me some hotdogs. I even brought some back with me on the plane back home to Orlando Florida. Please don’t ever close your doors your restaurant, your food and the people that work there are all amazing.

Best hotdogs around! Unique! I've never waited longer than 2 minutes if that! Staff/owners always friendly and appreciative. 100% recommend

Original sauce I think is back! No more cinnamon that I can tell!

Full disclosure that I went here consistently as a kid. It is one of those childhood memories that I am passing on to my son. After being away for a solid period of time I went back the other day and I 'm happy to report it hasn 't changed a bit. It looks the same, smells the same, and the food is still just as good. The sauce for the hot dogs is unique to this place and is a meat based red sauce. I find that you 'll either like it or you won 't so ask to try some ahead of ordering. The hot dogs are amazing and have a nice 'snap ' to them with every bite. The usual is with mustard, onion, and sauce but some leave off the mustard and they 're still as good. The rest of the food is good as well although we always go there for the dogs.

This restaurant holds a special place in my heart from childhood, and I was excited to bring my fiancé here since I no longer live in Connecticut. I wanted to show him my hometown, and of course, that includes the delicious food. The famous sauce tastes slightly different to me now, but it's still enjoyable. My fiancé even bought a t-shirt as a keepsake. He really loved both the food and the friendly atmosphere.
