Capitol Lunch - New Britain

Fantastic hot dog with great service! I really appreciate that they’ve maintained the original decor inside. It’s a landmark in New Britain, and there's no need to alter it. However, the sauce is a bit different than I remember—it's hard to describe, but it seems like the current owners must have modified the recipe, and I don't think it's an improvement. It's slightly not the same as before. Nonetheless, it's still a delicious hot dog and definitely worth a visit. Be aware that parking on Main St. can be tricky, so I recommend using the New Brite Plaza for a more convenient option.

This restaurant holds a special place in my heart from childhood, and I was excited to bring my fiancé here since I no longer live in Connecticut. I wanted to show him my hometown, and of course, that includes the delicious food. The famous sauce tastes slightly different to me now, but it's still enjoyable. My fiancé even bought a t-shirt as a keepsake. He really loved both the food and the friendly atmosphere.

A family-owned gem! This place has a classic vibe that's truly impressive. If you're looking for an authentic 50s diner atmosphere, complete with the taste and experience, you must visit Capitol Lunch!

I grew up eating Capital Lunch hotdogs, I love them so much and your home made sauce is amazing, my mouth is watering just to think of it. One of the best restaurants in New Britain Connecticut. I live in Orlando Florida now but ever time I go back home the first and last thing I do is go get me some hotdogs. I even brought some back with me on the plane back home to Orlando Florida. Please don’t ever close your doors your restaurant, your food and the people that work there are all amazing.

Best hotdogs around! Unique! I've never waited longer than 2 minutes if that! Staff/owners always friendly and appreciative. 100% recommend
