Famous Baking Company - New Bern

I had an early dinner on a Monday with my mom and my wife. Our server, Donna, was incredibly sweet, accommodating, and hospitable. We also took advantage of the 50% discount on baked goods in addition to our meal. I didn't know they have a full bakery next door! It’s definitely the best day to enjoy these deals!

Now known as New Bern Bistro, this restaurant offers excellent food with a diverse menu that goes beyond just pizza and Italian dishes. The wait staff is attentive and manages their tables effectively, even when busy. Be sure to check out the new bar and dining area at the back. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, the quality makes it well worth it.

The food was delicious, earning a solid 4 out of 5. The gyro platter and garlic bread were standout dishes, while the wings, sandwiches, stuffed shells, pepper steak, and Italian sub were all worth trying. The service was also commendable, receiving a 4 out of 5 for efficiency and friendliness. The atmosphere was decent but could use a little improvement, which is why I rated it a 3 out of 5. Overall, I highly recommend giving this place a visit for a satisfying and affordable meal!

I love coming to Famous! The service is prompt and the food is good. I’ve tried almost every category of their menu. Subs, pizza, pasta, and salads are each delicious! I really love all the options in their bakery. The bakery workers are kind and creative and even offer coffee. I had a wonderful iced pumpkin s’mores latte yesterday that was a sweet change from the typical pumpkin spice! Food: 5

I ordered a marble sheet cake with whipped icing for a party. It was the best cake I’ve ever had, seriously! I provided the print for the middle of the cake, and they did the colors on the outside.
