Au Bistro Gourmand - Nevers

We booked a table for 7:30 a.m. on Friday. When we arrived, the staff members were all sitting at a table outside dining. They looked up, but no one welcomed us and no one got up until we were going to tell them we had booked. One of the waitresses arose and showed us at our table. We were the only ones until 8:30. When we left, there were only four other tables occupied - one Friday night!? the service was correct - should be with 4 servers for 1 table! However, food was really excellent and at a reasonable price. It's just on a main road, so not a romantic setting.

Most restaurants offer "à la carte" or "at fixed prices". this restaurant offers three different "fixed price menus" - but you can easily replace elements of each menu. food is also very good, as is the level of support service. certainly a valid choice!!

A friend who lives nevers has booked this restaurant so that we could eat together. the menu was not what I expected - I thought there would be a menu on the map but instead we had the choice between three different menus. say that you can mix the menus if you want an entry from one and one main dish from the other, but there may be a fee for that. We were served with a lens and ham shower to begin with. I had the local menu and my husband and friend had the passion menu. My entrance was a salmon and chicory salad and the men had scallops. I then got the scallops and mussels, my husband the sank and our duck friend. food was very tasty and well presented. overall, a good meal but a little bit of a mood. ;-)
